Junior Maccabi Tennis Clinic (ages 6-18)
 

This program teaches basic skills to the beginner and intermediate player who looks towards advanced and competitive tennis. Junior Competitive Tennis (ages 8-18)
 

This Tournament Training Program is conducted by the renowned Niru's Tennis Academy and is for intermediate and advanced players who aspire to or are already playing in tournaments, varsity, or USTA competition. Private Tennis Lessons
 

Private lessons with a JCC tennis coach will help you perform at your highest level. Some of the areas we specialize in are stroke correction, stroke development, mental toughness, point construction, strategy, on and off-court fitness, understanding an opponent's weaknesses and understanding your own potential. Big Tyme Basketball Development (ages 10-13)
 

Designed to work on all fundamentals of the game of basketball with strength and conditioning implementing offensive & defensive strategies. It focuses on those basketball players who have an interest in playing basketball at school or local leagues. The JCC's basketball classes are taught by Mike Allen Sports. Free Agent Basketball Development Class (14-16 years)
 

The intensity of this program will be high, as we want each participant to take it to another level. Each player will be challenged and learn a different approach to be prepared for the season as well as AAU basketball Tryouts in the Spring. We will be concentrating on helping prepare players before the Junior Warriors Basketball Season. Each week there will be a motivational quote where kids will be challenged to memorize and apply to their lives.

Youth Fitness Program (ages 10-13)
 

Do you want your children to workout with you in the fitness center?  Children ages 10-12* years old can learn to use the fitness center in a safe and effective manner. After successful completion of YFP Basic, which involves a separately scheduled practical examination, your child will be permitted to use the APJCC fitness center.

YFP Camp is an extension of our YFP Basic program and will entail more in-depth instruction and practice of safe program design and exercise selection. 
 *Children age 13 are welcome to attend YFP Basic or YFP Camp.  Children ages 13-15 years old may exercise in Fitness A & B after having completed a Health & Fitness Orientation.

VIPR Groups (ages 13+)
 

The JCC is proud to introduce VIPR to our fitness department. VIPR stands for Vitality, Performance, and Re-Conditioning. It may look like a humble rubber tube, but it is an extremely effective training tool. VIPR is suitable for all ages and abilities, with weights ranging from 4kg to 20kg. It provides an effective, whole body workout, builds muscle, and burns calories through strength and movement training. More info: Linda Thompson, Lead Personal Trainer, lindat@svjcc.org.

Ready to Run! (ages 13+)
 

Interested in running your first 5K race or setting a personal best record? This course will give you the tools you need to succeed! Workouts will be led by a Personal Trainer and will include intervals, distance, hill repeats, sprints, stretching and plyometrics. Classes are 30 minute sessions that can be done solo, as buddies, or as a trio, and can be scheduled at your convenience.

Rowing Sessions (ages 13+)
 

Whether you already row or are considering rowing to keep in shape, lose weight, cross-train for another sport, rehabilitate from injury or surgery, rowing is the complete exercise for you.  Benefits to rowing include:  low-impact (easy on your knees & ankles), high calorie burner, upper & lower body workout, works your back and abdominals, superb aerobic fitness and relieves stress!  Please contact Linda Thompson, Lead Personal Trainer, at lindat@svjcc.org for class days and times.  Classes are limited to 3 participants and the cost includes eight 30 minute sessions. Foam Rolling 101 (ages 13+)
 

Learn how to safely and effectively apply foam rolling, also called self-myofascial release, to lengthen your shortened muscle tissue and relax your overactive muscle tissue.  Please contact Phillip Toves, Certified Personal Trainer, at phillipt@svjcc.org for more information.

Postural Alignment & Functional Fitness for Kids (ages 12-15)
 

This small group targets children ages 12-15 who want to get more stable, strong and functional. If you have a child with rounded shoulders, muscle tightness, bunions or other foot issues, lordosis, or a child who just needs general strengthening and core conditioning, this class may be of benefit. We will begin by integrating a series of postural based stretches and core based strengthening exercises to encourage proper joint alignment and posture. Once a stable frame is in place, and compensations are at a minimum, functional based exercises will be integrated to strengthen and stabilize. Lisa Decker has a master’s degree in Human Movement and works in the field of corrective exercise. She works with an approach to postural alignment called The Egoscue Method. This class will incorporate this method in a fun, challenging, safe, and non-competitive environment. This group is limited to 6 participants, allowing for ample focus on individual progressions, goals and form. Pilates for Teens
 

The Pilates Method of body conditioning is a fun and challenging workout. On the Pilates Reformer each student will learn exercises that develop core strength. Each set of reps will focus on the center of the body utilizing the principles of the Pilates method: center, concentration, control, precision, alignment, and breath. Coaches will guide young athletes through a variety of land/water based workouts and games that incorporate stretching, aerobic activities, and strength training.  Learn exercises that will specifically target your swimming muscles and improve overall fitness.  Participants will also learn about nutrition for staying healthy and energized before, during, and after workouts. If your child loves to swim, then our dedicated coaches can help improve their technique, teach them competitive swimming skills and teach them to work as a team. Optional swim meets are organized and this is a year round program with monthly fees.We offer two swim teams, one that practices on Mondays and Wednesdays, and one that practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Masters Swimming is a drop-in program for adults. This program meets every weekday and provides a structured workout in the pool. BBYO (6th-12th grades)
 

The B'nai B'rith Youth Organization (BBYO) is a teen movement whose goal is to involve Jewish teens in meaningful Jewish experiences. For more than 80 years, BBYO has provided exceptional identity enrichment and leadership development experiences for hundreds of thousands of Jewish teens. BBYO has chapters nationwide, with over 1,000 teens participating in the Bay Area. The South Bay chapter is headquartered at the Addison-Penzak JCC. A youth movement for Hebrew-speaking youth. Tzofim offers an opportunity for teenagers to participate in unique Israel-related programs, with weekly activities in Hebrew for ages 10-18. Children with Special Needs (ages 6-12 years)

Fun & Fitness with Friends
 

Fun and Fitness with Friends is a recreation program available to all children with special needs who are ages 6-12. The program provides a supportive, structured and nurturing environment for children with special needs to develop new skills and make new friends.
Children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including sports, swimming, arts & crafts, cooking, pet therapy, and more.
Each child is paired with a trained volunteer who assists them and provides one-on-one attention throughout the program.
